Agra is the city of love, monuments, Taj Mahal and Shoes. For a show freak like me, this sure was a paradise. A family weekend luxury gateway was the much needed break of all times! I love the way this city welcomes it's tourists, from ancient walls to the craftsmanship on local shops, the city speaks for itself. You just can't miss the grand TAJ MAHAL,the structure of love, the story that is a story within itself!
So we stayed at Radisson Blu, the luxury hotel at Agra and we visited The Taj Mahal. The Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri (All the three being a UNESCO heritage site and the Taj of course being the Wonder of the world)
Wonders of the TAJ...
My b'ful family at the Taj!
At the Fathehpur Sikri
This is the lucky charm door with horse shoes from the mughal era!
Single cut marble work, resembling a glass work, truly a masterpiece!
All that About Leather Shopping!
SO I got 8 pair of shoes, bad and so much knowledge of HISTORY :P
Miss Guilty Travel Tips
- For a weekend gateway pack a small bag with cotton shirts and denims (oh-so-comfortable)
- Carry Sunscreen, the summers are here and apply them in and around!
- Carry comfortable pair of ballerinas, avoid strappy sandals to avoid zebra tan on feet
- Carry additional rubber bands for the hair, you may have to tie them up in scorching sun
- When visiting a heritage site, hire a guide, it just makes the sightseeing more interesting and they aren't expensive at all (I ended up hiring 3) And they also help you in taking group/family photos
- Don't shop from the first shop, try 34 more and get the best deal
- When bargaining, avoid sounding like a tourist, just say you are from some street from that city(you can always look up at Google u know)
- Carry a small sling bag, lesser the better
- Always check for hotel discounts well in advance, on the website and design an itinerary on your own and yes have a happy travel!
In case you want to know all about my #StealDeal hideouts, or you want me to help you plan your itinereay for Agra for a weekend, feel free to drop in a mail. Would love to hear from you all, till then happy summers everyone :)
