All That You Needed About Farhan Akhtar!

For decades, movies have been a religion in our country and film stars our demi-Gods. And every Friday, the followers increase by leaps and bounds. Being the pioneer of film magazines and award ceremonies in India, Filmfare celebrates the glorious history of our films. We are thrilled to announce that the 59th  Idea Filmfare awards 2013 will be held on January 24,2014 at the YRF studio, Mumbai.

Team Guiltybytes got in conversation with none other than but Farhan Akhtar and asked him a few questions. Here’s an exclusive Interview of Farhan with Guiltybytes.

GB: From your Journey of being a Writer, Director, Actor, Singer which role has been the toughest?
FA: Honestly I don’t know how to answer this one as it’s a very tough question. I think If you have the Passion and the motivation in life that keeps them going then there are no boundaries and no role is difficult. I try and give 100% in everything that I do and focus on one thing at a time.

GB: You trained so hard for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag what was your inspiration behind it?
FA: The sole inspiration behind the movie was the man himself Mr Milkha Singh. I had promised him that I would make the movie with utmost dedication and so I dedicated 2 yrs of my life to the movie. I reminded myself that if he could work so hard to achieve his goal, then I too must put in all my efforts to justify this role.

GB: Which actor in Bollywood is your favourite?
FA: It’s very difficult to say which actor is my favourite; as every actor works very hard but if I had to, I would say Mr Amitabh Bachchan as I have grown up admiring his work.

GB: Since you are such a Music enthusiast which Musical band is your favourite?
FA: I have grown up listing to Beatles and Elvis. So yeah they are my first favourites in Musical bands.

GB: What Inspired you to make Lakshya?
FA: Lakshya holds a very special place in my heart. It was a calling of a young man finding his feet, how it took him away from his comfort zone. We spent 5 months in Ladakh, the whole experience was very special.

GB: Lakshya is one of my favourite movies of you, being from armed forces myself I can tell you it has inspired a lot of youth to join the armed forces, infact in army it is called the “Lakshya Casuality”! what message do you have for the youth to inspire them further to be a part of the Army?
FA: Laughs… Really is that what they are called??? It is a privilege of any Actor or a Director to be able to inspire anyone with their work. And to be able to inspire the youth of the country to join the Armed forces is indeed an achievement. My message to them would be that serving the nation by joining the Armed forces is the biggest honour, so more and more youngsters should join the Armed forces . All the best.

GB:  What are your upcoming projects?
FA: My upcoming movies are Shaadi ke Side Effects; I am also doing a movie with Kareena Kapoor – Bombay Samurai directed by Dev Benegal.

The 59th Idea Filmfare Awards for 2013 are all about commemorating the magic of the movies and paying tribute to unforgettable starts, films, song, dialogue and celluloid memories. Gracing the occasion to announce the most anticipated award ceremony of 2014, was the Bhaag Milkha Bhaag star Farhan Akhtar with Mr. Tarun Rai - Chief Executive Officer, Worldwide Media, the publishers of Filmfare magazine and Mr. Rajat Mykharji , Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Idea Cellar.

Bollywood: Vidya Balan Fails to Impress, Yet Again!

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan led the largest Indian Independence Day celebrations overseas on August 18, but like always, beta Vidya just failed to impress us all with her Miss Plain Jane look. It's the hair, yes the HAIR that is creating a lot of problems for me. We have been forgiving this curvy actress time and again for all the fashion bloopers but this time, when everything else seemed right, why, why did she ignore her hair?

The hairstyle reminds me of the British Army officer Lord Dalhousie's era wherein the men in the forces would wear a wig with curled up hair attached to it for an official dinner party! Yes Vidya beta, it's about time you take your critics, the fashion ones a bit more seriously and fire the stylist who seems to be making a an error-full fashion portfolio on you for a better job prospect!

Vidya Beta wore pretty earrings without a doubt and a lehenga that was nothing wow but it did work! The hair, I feel I cant get over it for the rest of my life! Pretty bad eh?! Anyhow the diva has made us proud when it comes to films and drama, let wish for her to have a brand new creative and a much sorted stylist soon, or Miss Guilty will have to write a letter to the two times divorce-ed, Siddharth Roy Kapur to invest in a good stylist for his considerably newly wed bride!

So dear readers, let me know your thoughts on this. Did her look work for you? Drop a comment with a Yay or a Nay!
Bollywood: From Sridevi's 50th Birthday Bash

Being 50 is the new 30, well at least in the case of gorgeous actress Sridevi! Donning a floral satin dress from Prabal Gurung’s pre-fall collection for her 50th Birthday celebrations, Sridevi looked absolutely chic that evening! Here is a sneak peek from her birthday bash, and yes how could we miss her almost-bollywood-looking daughter Jhanvi.

She accessorized her look with a white Alexander McQueen clutch and black shoes. Her hair looked as pretty as ever after all.

The Kapoor family ensured that they make a statement, but the Mummy Kapoor scored all the brownie point for us. And to the upcoming divas all we can say is Good Luck!
Bollywood: Vidya Balan's Cameo in OUTMD

Akshay Kumar-Imran Khan-Sonakshi Sinha starrer 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobaara' did not get rave reviews despite it being much hyped. However, what came as a pleasant surprise was a cameo by none other than Ooh la la girl Vidya Balan.

Vidya's guest appearance was never revealed in the promos, but came as a surprise when the movie was released. It is reported that on a special request by Ekta Kapoor and director Milan Luthria, Vidya, who worked with them in hugely successful 'Dirty Picture', made a special guest appearance in a song sequence in the film. Vidya is seen wearing a burka in a song.

Producer Ekta Kapoor and Milan Luthria were eager to rope in Vidya Balan for their movie, and Vidya instantly agreed for this friendly appearance when she was approached. Vidya Balan was last seen in 'Ghanchakkar', opposite Emraan Hashmi. She is currently shooting for 'Shaadi Ke Side Effects' with Farhan Akhtar.

Deepika Padukone Bedazzles At The Ramp

For the first time ever in the history of fashion shows in India, the audience were seated on the Ramp itself! Yes, this very new form of seating arrangement was seen at Manish Malhotra's Delhi Couture Week.

With superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone on the ramp, stunning old world setting and 1930's inspired wedding collection, Bollywood's favourite designer Manish Malhotra brought the curtain down at the PCJ Delhi Couture. While model-turned-actress, Deepika looked stunning in a navy blue velvet zardozi lehenga teamed with full puffed sleeved choli, her Chennai Express co-star SRK kept it simple in a black suit.

Manish also incorporated Chantilly lace, which was reminiscent of that time, reflecting old world charm of opulent India. While Manish was in all awe of his muse, his idea resembled a very old world town hall of 1930's. ''I think this is how a couture show in the 1930's would have been like. It was very personal and that is how I wanted it to be like," Manish added after the show.
