California Pizza Kitchen Makes a Yummy Debut in Dilli!

For all those looking for a Perfect New Year Weekend Brunch, California Pizza Kitchen is “the” place to be. After serving Foodoholics in Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai, CPK has launched its outlet with the help of the brand’s master franchisee JSM Corporation in Gurgaon, DLF Cyber Hub. Team Guiltybytes was invited for the inauguratory lunch. The super lunch was presided over by the Global Brand Ambassador for Franchise Operations of the International chain, Chef Justin Parras.

CPK stands by its Tagline “it all begins with imagination and ends with unforgettable flavours’ and so to say that the menu at CPK is long would be an understatement! Smoothies, Coolers and Mocktails to Salads, Pastas, Sandwiches and three pages of Hearth baked Pizza options which leave you a little spoilt for choice.

We started our lunch with beautiful looking mocktails called the Hawaiian Sunshine which had Pineapple, Passion fruit, Grenadine and lime juice, Cranberry Mist which was a mix of Cranberry, Lime juice and soda.

CPK offers a variety of salads of which my favorite is Thai Crunch Salad. The first bite of the salad was not only mesmerizing but it took me took a different world all together, no wonder it is the most popular and the most ordered dish of CPK world over. The Salad has Crisp veggies and cilantro with chicken and the crunch of peanuts, wontons and rice sticks which is tossed in Thai peanut dressing.

Thai Crunch Salad.

Another Salad which that we had was Veg Moroccon Spice Salad; the different colours in the salad were indeed a treat to the eyes.  It is one of a kind, with roasted sweet potatoes, dates, toasted almonds, beets, red peppers and cranberries, tossed with moroccon vinaigrette.

Veg Moroccon Spice Salad

Among the starters we had Black Bean Quesadilla a concoction of black bean sauce, cheddar, onion and Serrano pepper sandwiched between grilled bread, Tuscan Hummus with Pita bread but what we would really recommend are the Lettuce Wraps which have Chicken, Paneer and Shrimps as its options. They are make-your-own-wraps, so you can stuff as much or as little you want! It has Fresh Shiitake mushrooms, water chestnuts and scallions tossed in spicy ginger soy sauce

Non Veg Platter
The real treat was when main course arrived. We love thin crust pizzas, The thinner, the better! CPK’s hearth baked pizza is so thin and crisp, there’s an actual crunch to certain parts. And we love the flavours of the toppings. CPK had a lavish display of Pizzas like Crispy Thin crust Chicken Fajita Pizza, which was a 9- inch base with a pesto-cilantro sauce, soy-lime marinated onions, peppers, green onion, cheese and shredded chicken served alongside a spicy, sour cream and guacamole. We also had  Tostada, a Pizza which Chef Justin Parras called Hot and Cold pizza served with Salsa sauce, next was a Multigrain Sundried Tomato pizza with black beans, along with CPK Veggie Pizza- Veg pizza made of broccoli, roasted corn, sliced red onions, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and tomato sauce . But what Guiltybytes would really recommend is the Chicken Pizza which combines barbeque sauce, gouda and mozzarella cheeses, chicken and is garnished with tomatoes and cilantro.

From pizzas we moved on to Pastas we decided to have a Sundried Tomato Pasta with grilled Chicken, then we had Garlic Cream Fettuccine  and Tomato Basil Spaghettini. The pastas were okay we loved the pizzas better.

We also had their special Masterchef dish 5 Spice Lemon Garlic baked Basa fish with Corn Succotash which was superb.

After tasting all these wonderful new menu items we were stuffed with flavor!! If the pizzas were great their desserts are even better! We had White Chocolate and Strawberry cheesecake, Tiramisuand Red Velvet cake. Hands down Guiltybytes recommends Tiramisu. Italian for “lift me up," this dessert will lift your spirits with sweet Italian Cream cheese and Marsala Custard between layers of Espresso and Rum-soaked lady fingers. It was heavenly, a winner all the way!!!

Oh and yes, this is the food magician doing all the magic at CPK (seen below in the photo)

Healthy Rajma Galouti Kebabs Feat. Philips Airfryer

So mom and I were the lucky ones chosen to cook with the much talked about appliance of the year, The Philips Airfryer! Like you all are aware, The food section on guiltybytes is taken care of by my better half, my mommy, this time too she created a recipe that was worth every bite. So If you are looking forward to a healthy recipe, cooked without oil, almost no oil, then you must follow the steps below, but of course you need to own an airfryer to get the best possible results ;)

For the recipe you need: Boiled Rajma (kidney beans), Brown Breadcrumbs, green chilies, finely chopped onions, chaat masala, ginger, aamchur and salt to taste. Of-course you can add any masala of your choice. Put all these ingredients in a  mixer to get a nice consistent mix.
Cooking Time: 18 mins
Calories: Approx 100 Calories

So what we really love about the Airfryer is that it cooks food really well, without any excessive use of the oil. Rajma Galouti Kebabs were very well done, crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside and they were mouth melting indeed. Of-course the kebabs needed a dap of oil (we choose to brush it up with olive oil) but it's the rapid air technology that circulates hot air around a grill component which basically cooks the food. The cooking time was about 18 mins, but we had to turn the kebab surface so that crust on both the sides cooks perfect. It's needed to preheat the airfryer before we actually put our food into it, but it's sure a thumbs up for anyone who is choosing to eat clean and cook healthy recipes!

#Guiltfree Mango Cheesecake

So criticism is importation part of life but what people forget is that thin line between criticizing and defaming! I am a strong believer that the best and the worst of the people make mistakes but the former ones, learn from it all and eat a cake! Today's post is part of my #Healthyeating series wherein I have created recipes, all inspired from food writers across using the last set of mangoes from the season.

Say hello to Guiltfree mango Cheesecake :)

It takes efforts, concepts and skills to get a blog-post right! It's not about an image, it's about a concept to be bale to get through people and entice them with a fancy form of writing, but anyway this post is out of sheer love, sheer love for everything sweet and my curves. Yes it was about time I  looked after my curvy tales and in this last season of mangoes, I indulged in this healthy awesomeness.  Read more for the recipe-

The lovely ingredients you need for this guilt-free cheesecake are- Parle G biscuits2 packets, you can opt for mcvities in-case you want to completely cut down on calories, you need hung yogurt 2 cups, hang it so that you get water free, creamy texture. Yogurt is the main ingredient so make sure you use a fresh one! You need mangoes 2 would suffice, 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, 1 tsp gelatine and sugar-free sweetness-1/2 cup. I have opted for sugar free because I am keeping a check on the additional sugar flowing freely in my body!

There are two steps coupled in the picture above. Firstly churn all the biscuits in a mixer and add coco powder 2 table spoon in it. Add 1 tspn butter in order to get the mixture a bit gooey so that it sticks to the baking tray. Then place it on the pan like a layer. In the next step, mix sugar-free and yogurt together along with mango paste. While you add sugar, you will realize appearance of water in the mixture but dont worry just cut and fold the mix.

Once you mix well, take 1tsp of gelatin, add 3tblspn water and heat it over gas so that the gelatin boils. Add gelatin to the mix. It helps cheesecake set well, so don't miss this step.

Pour the mixture well and put it in fridge to freeze (overnight). Your mixture will look like this and because of gelatin you will feel the mixture maybe a bit wobbly, if it is, then its perfect to set!

Okay I know my knife skills need improvement but hey it tasted awesome. So yes once it is set overnight, garnish it with mangoes and try different patterns, like flowers or shapes as per your choice and indulge in this #guiltfree delight happily!

Supper Party at Pizza Hut India

Covered by Team Guiltybytes

My favorite word with the letter 'P' is Pizza and my favorite pizza place in this country is undoubtedly Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut India launched its third season of  'chef's table' in an exclusive event led by their Head Chef, Arjyo Banerjee in collaboration with Chef Luca Ciano, executive Chef from Barilla, Italy. The event had a specially created menu of the day showcasing Pizza hut's latest range of dishes inspired by the two chefs.

It was a fun session with Chefs playing off with each other as they rolled their sleeves up and got to work making pastas fresh for all of us. It started with Chef  Arjyo preparing Red-O-Wine pasta, soon to be launched in Pizza Hut smooth, creamy and tangy- ideal for Indian palette.

Chef Arjyo came back with a classic lasanga and then Chef Luca prepared scrumptious prawn pasta a perfect complement to the feast, were a variety of 6 appetizers, refreshing beverages, cheesy thin crust pizzas on traditional hand tossed bases, and an indulgent dessert. It's the dessert that gave us a high and it was a warm chocolate trio which was heavenly!

Chef Arjyo and his team have done a greta job in creating innovative recipes that will now be a a part of the pizza hut menu. The food, the warmth of people and a great dinner party was indeed a perfect occasion to celebrate the goodness of Pizza Hut. If you haven't gone there for a while, just mark it for this weekend and indulge in gourmet delights that will entice your pallet, asking for more!
Nutella Breakfast with Love!

Contributed by Priya

Nutella, strawberries and butter is a food for the brave ones, the ones who wouldn't compromise on taste, calories, sin food ever. Weekends are for indulgence and here is a very simple yet a very creative recipe shared by Priya who happens to be a budding food photographer on how to woo your husband with a weekend breakfast, made with love, literally!

For the recipe you need, Nutella, butter 250 gms, 2 eggs, sweetened whipped cream 5 Tbl spoon and fresh strawberries. The quantity is up-to you, depending how many people you make it for. This recipe is with a lot of twist to the traditional french toast that we eat hence you can add cinnamon, sugar, maple syrup and other ingredients that you like in this recipe.

Once you have all the ingredients, just heat your pan with all the butter and in the meanwhile usinga heart shaped cookie cutter, cut out the bread. If you don't have the cookie cutter, just use  aknife to cut out a heart shape. This will just add on to some creativity, you can give this step a miss if you want.

Once the pan is heated in butter, Just soak the bread in eggs for at least a minute and place the bread on to the hot pan just the way you do it in a french toast. Let the bread pieces be golden brown till you take them off the pan.

Let the bread slices cool for a minute till you apply a layer of nutella or else the nutella will melt away in a hot bread lice. After you have spread a thick layer of nutella, add some fresh strawberries and then apply a layer of whipped cream. It should look like 3 different layers of a sand-which. On top of whipped cream add another slice of bread and repeat the same till you get 3 bread pieces stacked up with this yummy filling!

In the end, garnish the top most layer with whipped cream and sprinkle some cinnamon powder. Your yummy Nutella love is ready to be served. Serve it with cold milk and get ready to be flattered with all compliments from your loved ones!

Easy Recipe for Banoffee Pie

A weekend without baking, yes you heard me right, especially after my regular baking antics on DamnSweet Bakers, I chose to go in for a simple, fresh afternoon pudding- The Banoffee Pie :)
It's simple, very delicious but more importantly, anyone can cook it at home. Okay one catch here is that this pudding is my version of the regular banoffee pie, so if your are looking for a yummilicious and easy to follow recipe, then refer to this one!

Recipe Powered by
#DamnSweet Bakers
Ingredients-
2 packs gulcose biscuits (choose from any brand, I used Parle G)
1/2 cup cream
25 gms melted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1-2 Banana
Cake crumbs (optional)
1 Tsp Vanilla Essence
1 dark chocolate bar

Step 1-

In a mixer, grind the biscuits and add melted butter in it. Once the mixture is pasty and moist, with your hand put the mixture in a pie dish and spread it properly. After you have spread the mixture, place the pie dish in a pre-heated oven and bake it for 10 minutes in 130 degrees Celsius.

Step 2-

Once the mixture is baked, take the pie dish out and let it cool for ten minutes. Now add cut pieces of Banana and cake crumbs (optional), i added vanilla plain cake that i had baked the other day, you can add any flavor if you want or simply add more bananas in-case you don't have cake at all and spread it properly.

Step 3-

Now we need to make the yummy, glazy caramel mixture. In a pan add one cup granulated white sugar and let it melt on a low beam. Once the sugar is melted, add 1/4th cup water to it and mix well. Your caramel syrup should look golden brown or orangish golden. Please note don't cook the caramel syrup for too long or else it will have a burnt flavour.

Step 4-

Pour the glazy caramel mixture over the cake crumbs and banana and let it set.

Step 5-

Step 5 is culmination of 2 steps. Firstly take the cream, add vanilla essence in it and whisk it properly till light and fluffy. In-case you like more sweet, add some powdered sugar to the fluffy cream. Then take a spoon and add the cream over the glazy caramel syrup. This is next layer after the caramel syrup. and then grate some dark chocolate over the fluffy cream layer.

Step 6-

Step 6 is to set the banoffee pie in the fridge for good 2-3 hours till the pie is strong enough to come out of the pie dish. OK so while you push the pie slowly to come out from the dish, make sure you do this very gently, because you don't want to break the crust, and then ta-da, serve cold with additional caramel syrup or choco syrup!

And Yes, Bon Appetit :)
