Miss Guilty Turns Designer!

Hi beautiful followers, readers and supporters. 2014 has been one the most exciting and exhausting year of my life. Those of you, who have been a part of my journey from the start know of all the major transitions that have happened and today I cant be more proud than to tell you all that yours truly has turned to designing for The Indian Spring!

I believe each one of us have a designer, a fashionista hidden in us. I mean being brought up in the fashion rich Indian household, you get to know of fabrics like brocade, tasser silk, cotton silk at a very early age, right girls? what I really mean is that we all have brainstormed with our boutique wali to get the most desirable outfit at one point of our lives. We drew the outfits the way we wanted and it all felt like an achievement. Well here I am, trying to wear another hat. Though I have to admit that I am still learning with my design team and that there is a long way to go, but here's the first capsule for you all. And yes, we are ready with our promises to be your only online global boutique that will lend you custom fit, varied designs, fabric options and much more. Lend me support by logging onto www.theindianspring.com and shop!

Here's How I decode the design bubble. What were the key design points and briefs.

- Idea is to make the ethnic wear all the more glamorous and chic
- Say yes to collar band or bandh gala for that sharp look
- Use colors that are in and that suit the Indian Skin tone beautifully
- Minimal is the 'IT' thing for Spring Summer
- Have a look that can have multiple accompaniments like dupattas, stoles, scarfs etc
- Ivory color pants to  go well with solid hues
- Summer is hitting up hence, Cotton Silk for fabric and brocade for pants is absolutely chic.

More from the collection that you can shop from The Indian Spring

p.s. This is just the beginning, stay tuned for more madness. :)

Here I am officially announcing the start of Spring Summer 2014 or should I say, summer 2014? Either ways, I love colors, fresh flowers and patterns when the sun begins to shine. My today's post is all about finding the right crop top for your body type and of course my take on my first crop tee.

Crop tees are very comfortable and chic way to dress up during summers. Okay so here are my top 3 pointers on how to pick the right style for your body-type-

I am wearing: Crop Top c/o Done By None

How To Style A Little Black Dress with A Silk Wrap!

Love is in the air and so is my mood! I love February, I have had some of the most exciting times in this month you know ;) No no you are guessing it wrong, it's got more to do with opportunities and exciting projects...I know how important it is to dress up for V day, after all it is that one day in the year that demands looking all good and sexy, isn't it girls? So without deviating much from the topic, let me tell you all that I have created a look for a V day date using a Little Black Dress. There are so many interesting ways to style one, and here's is my take on the LBD feat. The Indian Spring, my own brand

Silk Wrap c/o The Indian Spring || Earrings c/o The Indian Spring

Elegant earrings, silk wrap is the flavor of the season and I would suggest that you guys can opt for any colored dress, try opting for a bold colored and pair it above with these two accessories only. All you need after this is a pretty bracelet or a simple clutch to complete the look. Don't be shy in trying new kind of hair or simply tying up your locks, it will look super chic. Love is a beautiful feeling and when you get to spend time with the one you adore, make most of it. By making most, I am referring to both love wise and fashion wise ;)

Hope you all have a fantastic valentines week!

2014: New outfit + New Project + The Big News

I am just so super happy to kick start 2014 with so many new projects and new associations and of course my first outfit post for 2014. I have been so happy to run ##Bodypositive campaign on my blog and it inspires me every single day to read how women are falling in love with themselves. I also want to to talk about how I never thought I could pull off a leather skirt look because I was so worried of how my curves would show, but here I am, embracing myself every single way, all thanks to #BP campaign ;)

2014 means alot to me and to my family. I am getting ready to launch my Blogshop version 2.0 and It will be called as The Indian Spring. I met so many beautiful artists and artisans from the interior of the country, courtesy my army background and travelling that Team Guiltybytes sat down to develop a platform that could help these great creators promote their art. On Indian Spring you will find clothes, Indian threads, embroideries, young designers with contemporary clothing and Jewllery, all of my favorite fashion subjects. I don't intend to make a million from The Indian Spring, but I'd rather follow my passion to be a happy person after all. I would love if you guys would lend me as much support as you have given me for Guiltybytes. This blog has been a daily source of inspiration in my life, I have begun to love life, myself, my friends and the whole world so much more all because of this one blog. I can't thank you guys enough for it. Well now I can stop being emotional and I hope you guys like my lace & leather skirt look with my all new Zara heels. Don't worry if you have little curves showing, just smile and be confident.

And yes, Here's the LOGO for The Indian Spring, Do tell me if you guys like it?

Guide To Day Wedding Makeup + OOTD in a Sari

To all the beautiful readers, I want to begin this post by saying THANK YOU! Guiltybytes now has Google Page Rank 1, small milestones, Big achievements within 2 years! I have been attending a series of desi weddings and that's also why I was off from the blog. But here I am, back with a bang! Makeup plays a very important role in any day light function (read wedding function) and I couldn't help but notice white, blended faces of foundation around me. Here's a post on my OOTD and some makeup tips, hope you guys enjoy it!

The most important aspect of any day wear makeup is to get the base/foundation shade right. The good thing about night parties or weddings is that they kind of, cover up for all the makeup faux pass. I myself have struggled a couple of times in getting the day makeup right, especially the eyes! I did a winged eyeliner and for eye shadow I used, a silver+beige shadow and blended it well much before I applied the liner. Avoid too many colours on the eye during the day, it just ends up bleeding all over the face and yes, it looks like uugghh in the photographs,..you know what I am trying to say right?! The second big magic tool for day wear makeup is mascara. Use a voluminous mascara, my favorite ones are from L'Oreal and Lakme. I wore Lakme eyeconic in this look. For base, I am little too conscious and I never really follow the rule of 'it's looking fine'. For me it's either perfect or it's not right at all! I opted for a BB cream and CC cream combination for the base and it did wonders, truly! I moisturized my skin with Clinique moisturizer and then applied Ponds BB cream like a base. I used Lakme CC cream as concealer (under the eye, chin, under the nose) and blended it well. It looked as smooth as a cookie dipped in chocolate. :p

For lips, I did a stained look, which is basically done by application of lip balm, lots of lip balm and then applying a matte based lipshade on it. I am wearing a Mac. My hair was my most successful style I have done in the recent past. I twisted and turned the hair from the ends and ended up locking all the tresses as a side messy bun.  must have used about 30 odd bobby pins to make the bun stay and finished it up with a hair spray so that it settles and it did. I was longing to wear Orchids in my hair, but I didn't have time so I picked up artificial flowers and put them on a toothpick and inserted them at 2 places in the bun! Please tell me it looks good?

Last but not the least, for any day wedding look, minimal + colours is the way to go. Dont over accessorize, instead pick statement pieces and do away with it. Your dress need not be very grand, but couple it with right blingy shoes and jewelry. Opt for feminine colours like Pink, purple, orange and more and look your best. And did I tell you, the saree I wore, has been made by a karigar (a craftsman) at his home and he will be soon selling it all on my new venture. Stay tuned for more details :)

Wine to Coffee, My November Date Night!

So I know I have been away for some time now and being a blogger that's almost like committing a crime, but then work keeps me busy as crazy and then there is this wedding season that has kept me pretty occupied. Oh and yes, did I tell you guys that I shot two beautiful weddings this November, yep, literally shot them behind the camera. Pics will be up soon in the coming posts. Anyhow today's post is all about November Date Night, from wine to coffee...

I had been dying to get an Aztec print dress since long and oh boy how happy was I on finding this little print dress on Koovs.com that too on SALE.

Dates and dining out with the special someone is a beautiful feeling indeed. What makes it more special is the 'dressing up' part. I love to dress up and apply the blush on, onto my cheeks, like most of us eh! The best part about a nice evening out is the person you are with and that's where all the dressing up (efforts) seem to make sense. My take on date night is pretty simple, wear a nice, sexy dress and because it's winter time, wear a short jacket on top of your dress. It looks stylish and very edgy. Don't forget to accessorize with gold and bling and yep avoid really high heels if you want to be smiling all through the night. Instead opt for strappy shoes, wedge heels or peep-toes. My date was at Leela Kempinski Gurgaon. Apart form regular 5 start luxuries, It's their coffee that deserves a special mention!

Day to Night In Red Blazer!

Someone rightly said, 'when in doubt, wear RED'. I am taking the color red pretty seriously this F/W 2013 but more than that I am taking cues to do a repeat offender without actually feeling any repetitive every time. I have come up with looks in my red blazer featuring Paperlillie from day to night! Do tell me which one was your favorite ;)

Gia Kashyap happens to be one of my favorite bloggers and when I learnt about her clothing label Paperlillie, I knew that I had to stalk it and stock it! Nobody's perfect but yes everyone must know their angles and cuts right! I have a wide torso, hence I choose to flaunt the blazer to add a silhouette on my body. Here's my take on the all new red blazer...

The Serious Work

This look is the minimal look with nude makeup and lots of bronzer. I teamed the red blazer with high waist pants and crisp white chiffon shirt and of course to add some playfulness to it, I wore my brooch and statement earrings.
The Denim Deal

This look is the fun, playful, denim look that reflects the not so serious side of me. I am wearing ethnic earrings from Meena Bazaar, Mint chiffon top from Vero Moda and stone slippers from Agra shopping!

The Miss Chic

I have been wanting to do a boots look for long, I think they look absolutely chic. Team up a printed dress with red blazer and boots this fall. I am wearing ring & earrings from aldo, neckpiece Missjo, Boots- Agra shopping again!
The Club Hopper

This look was so much fun to shoot honestly and this is the brat-ish side of me! I am wearing golden sequined skirt from my Blogshop, Black vest from La Senza, Brooch From Done by None and Black pumps from ASOS.

I think everyone must repeat one of the most significant pieces they posses in their wardrobes inform of different looks. I hope you liked what I tried to create, do let me know your thoughts by dropping a comment below!

5 Tips To Look Slim In Your Photos!

Tired of showing up double chin in your photos? Still figuring out why does your photo show a haunch back? Well, Today I have got answers and tricks that will help you look slim and prettier in your photographs! Today's post is inspired from my favorite blogger Evelina Barry.

Even before I write a new post, I research a lot in magazines, websites, blog et al. I love to draw inspiration from many, before I finally decide to pen it down on Guiltybytes. There are credits available for most of the sources, but some don't have any and that's where people can get ticked off (a realization from my last week's experience), So I have made up my mind that I am going to, no matter what dig in the source and feature the same so that this world becomes a happy place for all artists!

Here are the tips to perfect photographs that I feel a lot of Indian females need to know

TIP #1
To avoid showing double chin, touch the tip of your tongue to your mouth palette (upper side of the palette) while you show off your smile. It's easy, just touch the tongue tip on the upper palette, hold for 2 seconds and smile and that's exactly what I do. ;)

TIP #2
If you have a broad torso, simply angle sideways while posing. This doesn't mean that you need not pose upfront, it simply means that you turn your body slightly sideways so that it forms a beautiful silhouette that will ultimately make you look less broader in your photographs.

TIP #3
Most of the girls hate the way their arm appears in a photo. Its because no matter how narrow your arms are, if they are placed flatly they are going to look bigger. For this, you need to casually place your arm on to your waist, no, you need to pose like a model literally, just place it in a playful manner or hold a clutch under your armpit if you don't want to pose like that.

TIP #4
So you are just way too tired of looking at heavy legs, your own heavy legs when you wear a dress in a photo? Well the trick to less heavy legs is to fold the ankles. So while your are sitting, don't cross legs, instead cross ankles. And when you are standing, cross ankles again, though your legs will be crossed too slightly. This is going to elongate the way your legs look in a photo.

TIP #5
To avoid any tension from the torso and heavy bottoms, just straighten your back while you are posing. We are all lazy, lousy people and we think it looks cool when you just pose like BLAH, but the truth is that the photos come out to be more heavier than your origioriginal size. To avoid this, just straighten your back, know your angle right, tilt your chin a bit low and pose!

Additional Tips- Tilt your chin a bit low to highlight the structure of the face or your jaw line. Avoid getting clicked from a position wherein your camera is placed below, being a curvy Indian type, we appear to be FAT and yes know your angles right, I know mine and that helps me in all my photos, really!

I hope you guys like the post, would love to hear from you. Drop a comment below.
