Fall Fashion Essentials!

My favorite favorite favorite period of the year has arrived- the autumn fall! The reason why i have repeated favorite is because this time of the year i get to sport the best of fashion, use all furs and boots with dresses, comfortably wear boyfriend's jacket and sport burgundys, greens and not to forget the luscious coral lip shades!

Before i show the outfit, here are a few style essentials to keep in mind this fall-

- Sport cozy knits with pleated, free flowing skirts, it's chic and sexy at the same time
- Wear denim shorts and skirts with a neon colour hoodie and yeah in case you still want to cover up, use the stockings, the colourful ones!
- Don't save bright colours for spring, update the black stash of tights with tangerines and reds
- Buy a wine colour and burgundy and add it to neutral shades. Brick reds look great on warm skin tones for example, while bluish plums look great on cool ones
- Don not underestimate the power of pointy pumps, for a brunch use ankle boots with dresses/shorts
-Wear loud lip shades like a mauve/tangerine/red and let them do all the talking ;)

So here is my look for a fall date out!

Talking Threads- What's your Phulkari quotient??

From 'Paani-da-rang' to Yo-Yo Honey Singh, Punjabi culture is picking up like never before. From food, music, celebs its raw fashion that is making wavesin the market. The art of "flower working" also called as Phulkari is in the shopping kart of guiltybytes this season. The most intricate form of motifs created in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal process make the perfect phulkari! The main characteristic of Phulkari embroidery is that the stitch is used on the wrong side of the fabric with the design taking shape on the front.

Gone are the days when Raju's mummy, yes Raju, the guy we all use to hate playing with use to wear a dull looking, unfinished thread work, then known as Phulakri Saree. Phulkari has become trendier than before, there are jackets that you can team up with pencil fit skits, then there is a sexy saree that should be sported with a skimpy blouse...you think of it and it's there in the market, on web portals, and everywhere!

The Phulkari jacket can give complex to any boyfriend's jacket from an international brand, when worn rightly. On a wedding, if you are too bored of wearing the same old anarkali or a Lehenga, then go in for something as good as this jacket.
Team it up with a bold colored, flared skit and flashy earrings. On yes make sure the hair look neat, you too can go in for a clean pony tail.
And my dear i can promise you, Raju, Bunty and Sonu's mummies will be eyeing you all shaadi long!!

*The Phulkari jacket is available at any punjbai handicraft store! Try the one at Cannaught Place for this. Costs about- Rs. 2000-5000, depending on the embroidery.

And what i have now for all you readers is 'the' statement clutch in Phulkari. Last but not the least are my all time favorite, Jootis with phulkari work!

Foot-y Wisdom

Wearing a new pair of jootis can prove to be a bit painful. To avoid this, rub the inner part of the jootis with sandpaper. This will make the leather smooth.
Alternatively, apply Vaseline on your feet to avoid shoe bite. Moreover, wear skin stockings if you have delicate feet.
Since these are closed shoes and given the Indian weather, your feet are likely to stink! To avoid this, apply talcum powder before wearing them.

*Available at Janpath, Karol Bagh, CP and more

So now that you know the wonders of Phulkari, get up, grab your wallet and splurge. Let the world know your Phulkari quotient...!
Boyfriend's Jacket for a date with 'the' boyfriend..!

Whether you’re planning to go casual or dressy, “office chic” has suddenly become “always chic” with the boyfriend jacket. Its a must have for all the girls who do not like to bling on all the time but still make a sassy statement whenever possible! Shopping for this trendiest piece can cause strain a student's pocket but it will prove to be every single penny when worn with different styles.

For those who confuse the Bf's jacket with a cardigan, (yes they look the same most of the times), let me make things easy for you. To go in for an all Bf'f jacket, choose the longer jackets, the ones that stretch below the waist line and the ones extending more are even better.

How to wear A Bf's Jacket-

1. Don’t forget to roll up those sleeves! You can find some sleek-looking blazers that have to-die-for linings. Show them off with one or two rolls of the sleeves.
2. When wearing it with the Skirt ensure the length of skirt is longer than the jacket so that it looks aptly fashionable. Also with skirt try and go for strappy heels with nude shades (they look the best)
3. Pair it with Soft Pants- Make sure you keep the top untucked for this one!
4. Minimal Accessory usage- Go in for a heavy neck-piece or chunky earrings but anything else a big NO!
5. Go for bright colors, if you can experiment and you like vivid colors, pick some neon shades or the hot pinks, they always look stunning!

Oh and yes, for that perfect date make sure u put a perfect gloss with that BF's jacket, afterall you do want him to keep on thinking about you post date!

You can some of these enviable pieces from ASOS.com, Ebay.com, Zara.com,
