How To Have Kiss Proof Lips This Spring!

In my series, Basic Training, I’ll be giving a crash course on simple hair and makeup tricks that you still haven’t quite mastered.

Who doesn't love kiss-proof lips? Makeup Artists all across have been sharing tips on process of getting smudge-proof lipstick...here is a tested method for you all to follow!

Step 1: Dampen lips and lightly exfoliate them. Use sugar mixed in a drop of honey and rub it well for just 20 seconds by the clock. If you are allergic to honey, use a combination of sugar and a drop of lime juice and do the trick. This will buff away dead skin cell.. Just make sure to wipe the excess off with a paper towel before starting lipstick application.

Step 2: Line your lips with a clear liner. Stay just within your lip lines. “It acts as a road block, so lip color can’t get out of the lines.”

Step 3: Prime lips with foundation. Gently press some foundation on top of your lips using your fingers.

Step 4: Use a lip liner to draw the perimeter of your lips. Fill in your lips with the liner.

Step 5: Apply your lip color.

Step 6: Once your color has set, you can apply a clear lip balm either with a brush or with your finger.

Step 7: Use a pearl colored highlighter on your cupid’s bow. You can also dot it on the center of your bottom lip to make lips really stand out.

And ta-da  “You can drink your cocktail without worrying.”

Hope these steps help you with the perfect kiss proof lips. Let me know your thoughts by dropping a comment below!

Tricks to Help Makeup Stay Put

Whether it’s the hot summer months or the dead of winter, our makeup has a tendency to smudge, melt, and redistribute. Nobody likes to see their makeup move—it’s gross and frustrating. Here are the best tips to keep it where it belongs, so you’re always photo-ready.

Cleanse Well
Makeup often melts off because of the oil on your skin. Your best bet is to start off with fresh, clean skin. If your skin veers toward oily, try to find a cleanser that absorbs oils. I am obsessed with khadi toner and Mac makeup Cleanser.

Layer Carefully
After moisturizing, make sure to apply a primer before applying foundation. Primers help mask large pores, even out the complexion, and create a smooth canvas for the makeup. After applying makeup, remember to seal your cream-based makeup with powder.

Apply with Care
Cream makeup will continue to move until powdered—use either a brush or powder puff to dust on translucent no color powder.

Prime Your Eyes
Primer is always your friend. Just as you primed your skin, be sure to use an eye primer before placing your shadow. This will help it to stay in place and not leak down to your cheek throughout the day. Try Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (available at sephora).

Hands Off
Stop touching your face! Makeup can hold up fairly well, but if you are continually resting your cheek in your hands, the opposite will happen.

Stay Kiss-Proof
Use a touch of concealer or powder as a base before applying lip liner that is not too creamy, and a matte or low gloss lip color that will last longer, says Lewis.

Hope this helps you in putting the makeup last long!

5 Food Habits You Need To Give Up For Your Pimples!

Recently I have seen a lot of breakouts on my skin which never happened before, even though I have a concealer or a BB cream to fix it up, It still needed to be treated. And then, I made a conscious effort of checking up on my diet. Here are my Top 5 food habits I have been going wrong with-

1. Caffeine
No matter how many hydrating moisturizers you buy for your face, If your body is dehydrated on the inside, nothing will help. Watch your intake of caffeine (including all those carbonated drinks and incessant coffee breaks at work).

2. Sugar. Refined, synthetic Sugar.
Sugar is my weakness and it is major problem for most of the Punjabis after-all. But then breakouts are reason enough why I would like to keep a check on my sugar intake! Instead of the synthetic sugar, go for the real; coconut sugar, honey, agave are just a few that can be great replacement.

3. Fried food
fried cheese balls, fried chicken wings, I know, I know...But the truth is that the more “cooked” it is, the harder it is for our body to digest and thus, beautiful pimples begin to show. Stress less on fired, and maybe try baked. Oh Btw I read about this awesome Baked potatoes (just like fired finger chips recipe) that I will post soon, so yeah, look for alternatives!

4. Excessive Intake of Dairy Products
This includes Cheese, Paneer, Rsgulla, Khoa and Ghee. There are a lot of growth hormones contained in dairy which have an unnatural affect on our body.

5. Trans Fats
Fats Food, Chips, Donuts and almost everything not organic! I know It's not possible to not eat anything like this, but if you have excessive breakout problem and if you really love yourself, please draw a limit otherwise those pimples will never stop, NEVER. Trans fat generally isn't good for anyone that's why it is always suggested that one must go in for exercising and working out, but if that ain't possible especially in this sardi then cut down on it's consumption, for your own-self!

For those of you who arr rolling your eyes seeing the pointers above, I too am trying to take a stand (Have already applied pointer no. 1, 3 and 4), I will suggest that you too try to rid yourself slowly of at least three things from this list. Let’s kick start a great new year!

Review of Loreal Paris Kajal Magique!

How excited was I to see L'Oreal brand ambassador Aishwarya Rai Bachchan unveil the new eye liner, Kajal Magique in Mumbai at the end of 2013. Ash not only looked stunning in a black, Dolce & Gabbana gown, but her marketing collateral's also persuaded me to try the all new Magique. Read on for #TeamGuiltybytes verdict...

Kajals or Kohls are a must in every girl’s beauty kit and there isn't a day that I don’t leave my house without applying Kajal in my eyes. These days the market is flooded with decently priced Kajals like Maybelline Colossal Kajal and Lakme Eyeconic both doing very well among the consumers.

People are divided between the two and I personally like Maybellines’s Colossal Kajal better. Loreal India has recently launched a Kajal in this category called Loreal Paris Kajal Magique, claiming it to be the queen of Kajals. It is said to be powered with a new generation formula and mineral pigments for a deep intense color payoff. Along with providing a great finish, it is also enriched with ingredients like Vitamin E, Cocoa Butter, Olive Oil Esters and Vitamin C Derivative, which provide extraordinary care and a soothing feeling to the eyes. Since it is ophthalmologically tested, it is safe and suitable for contact lens wearers. Designed to last for up to 12 hours, Kajal Magique is smudge proof, waterproof and non-transferable. It is priced at Rs 245.

Loreal Kaljal Magique comes in a very sheek Electric pink and black colour packaging. I personally love the packaging as its very girly and also pink being my favorite colour. This Kajal glides smoothly on the eye, it is doubles up great as a liner as well. The colour isn’t the darkest of the black but it delivers a decent dose of black color that glides on effortlessly and blends beautifully. I had to apply 2-3 times to get the right colour and intensity. The kajal lasts for good 6 hrs without smudging (not for 12 hrs as claimed by Loreal). It’s easy-glide formula allows for maximum comfort and outstanding staying power.

Pros
Glides smoothly
Smudge proof for 6 hrs
Great packaging
Lasts long
Decently priced

Cons
Not the darkest of blacks as compared to Lakme and Maybelline. Have to be applied 2-3 times to get it right

My verdict is Loreal Paris Kajal Magique is a great kajal and I would definitely recommend the readers to use it. It will give a good competition to its counterparts Lakme Eyeconic and Maybelline Collosal and it might just become a favorite of a lot of people out there. It a practical beauty essential and I will definitely keep it in my beauty kit. What about you? Use it and let me know!

5 Lip Liner Mistakes We All Make—And Shouldn’t

Lip liner has had a bad rap for decades—ever since women thought it was a good idea to pair brown lip liner with nude lipstick. But the pencil does have an important place in our makeup routine if used correctly. It adds color, works as a primer and creates precise lines. Here are the top mistakes to avoid for perfect lipstick every single time.

1. Going Too Dark
The number one mistake we learned from the early 90s is never apply a darker pencil around your lipstick. Not only does it look tacky, but it also makes your lips looks smaller. If you can’t find a close match or a clear pencil, go with a pencil one to two shades lighter. This makes the center of the lips look plumper.

2. Leaving Smudges
A lip liner’s most important function is to create perfectly straight lines. Leave even one smudge and the lip looks sloppy. Fix any mistakes with a brushed dabbed in concealer. Trace the brush along the edge of the lips to cover any missteps.

3. Harsh Lines
Just as you don’t want smudges, you also don’t want harsh lines. The liner should be subtle and blend in with the lipstick. Two simple tricks: dab a Q-tip along the edges to soften the look and never sharpen the pencil to a super fine tip.

4. Moving Outside the Line
This may seem like the perfect way to fake bigger lips, but it only makes the lines more noticeable. Stick to drawing directly on the line.

5. Drawing Straight Lines
Straight lines tend to be harsh. Instead draw on an angle. This will also fill more of the lip and act as a better primer.

8 Beauty Habits You Should Be Doing Every Morning

Rise and shine! You don’t have to be a morning person to start your day with a few beauty-boosting habits. Add these must-dos to your A.M. routine and reap the benefits all day long.

Use an antioxidant serum.
Antioxidants such as vitamins C and E help protect your skin from aging free radicals, which occur when you encounter UV rays, pollution and other stressors during the day. They also help your sunscreen work better, and give your complexion a noticeable glow. Smooth on an antioxidant serum, after you cleanse and before you apply moisturizer or makeup.

Eat some protein.
Trade your bagel or piece of fruit for eggs or Greek yogurt . A recent study found that eating a high-protein breakfast helped women stay fuller longer and avoid overeating later in the day.

Duh, sunscreen!
You know you need sun protection daily (even when it’s cloudy), but do you realize that the SPF in your makeup probably isn’t cutting it? Yep — you need about a nickel-sized amount of sunscreen for your face alone, and most of us don’t pile on makeup that thick. Instead, double up on protection by using an SPF moisturizer under your foundation or powder. And don’t forget your lips, neck, backs of hands and eye area — all of those spots are exposed to aging UV rays just as much as your face.

Drink a big glass of water.
Dehydration not only causes you to feel terrible, it messes with the way your skin looks — and after a night’s rest, your body needs fluids. Whether or not you believe this woman’s miraculous makeover story, starting the day with a tall glass of water can’t hurt.

Move your body.
Studies have shown that women who exercise in the morning sleep better at night. And the beauty benefits of sleep are very real. Shift your schedule to make a morning workout easier to manage.

Choose a fragrance with citrus.
Using a citrus-scented perfume or body lotion can help jumpstart your day. Studies have shown citrus fragrances to reduce stress and even help boost immune function.

Mist your face.
Keep a can of mineral water mist in your fridge and give your face a cool spritz first thing. The chilly mist will help bring down morning puffiness and leave you feeling bright and awake.

Drink green tea.
If you need an A.M. caffeine boost, green tea is the best way to get it. The drink is packed with flavonoids, a type of antioxidant, which have been shown to slow cell damage (read: aging) and are even linked to a reduced risk of certain cancers. Can’t bear to give up your coffee (us either)? No need; coffee contains antioxidants, too and has also been shown to speed up metabolism.

Blush On Tips For The Bride-to-be

There’s a huge difference between a blushing bride and a bride who’s obviously wearing blush. Bridal makeup should always look effortless and enhance your natural beauty instead of overwhelming it. Blush can be the trickiest element to get right.

To select the right blush colors for your skin tone, first consider whether you have cool (blue) or warm (yellow) undertones in your skin. Then follow these rules: Don’t fight your complexion by picking a shade that’s opposite your skin tone (pale skin with cool undertones, for example, won’t look good with warm apricot blush). At the same time, don’t choose a color that has too many of the same undertones (a pinky-violet blush could make pale skin with cool undertones look ruddy or blotchy).

It’s a tricky balancing act! Remember when you’re shopping to pick out a light and a bright version. “To double check that you have the right bright shade, hold the blush color next to your cheeks. It should immediately brighten your face.

IMPORTANT TIPS-

Fair skin tone with cool undertones: baby pink with hints of mocha or beige; soft rose
Fair skin tone with warm undertones: golden apricot; light peach with a touch of pink

Medium skin tone with cool undertones: cranberry or light raspberry; rosy pink
Medium skin tone with warm undertones: sunkissed apricot; soft coral with brown undertones

Dark skin tone with cool undertones: plum; grape; dark raspberry
Dark skin tone with warm undertones: brown suede; deep coral with a little bronze

Worry no more and try on blushes virtually and find the hue that’s right for you. :)

5 Foundation Mistakes We All Make — And Shouldn’t

Foundation is the canvas on which we build a gorgeous makeup look. So no matter how pretty a lipstick or smoky eye, no one will notice it if your cover up is streaky or caked on. Avoid these common foundation mistakes to enhance your complexion and create a natural-looking finish.

1. Applying With Your Fingers
Although it seems easiest to apply foundation with your fingers, it oftentimes leaves harsh lines on the skin. For a more accurate blend, use a brush or sponge, like the Beauty Blender ($19.95, sephora.com). With a brush, blend the foundation in circular motions to create an airbrushed finish with little product. With a sponge, dab to avoid lines.

2. Testing the Color on Your Hands
When you color test at a Sephora or department store, don’t dab the formulas on the back of your hand. Instead, test the color on your jaw line, underneath the eyes and around the nose to find a match. Another option: Sephora’s Pantone Color IQ service. An employee holds a gadget to your cheek and forehead. Within minutes, your skin tone is matched to foundations throughout the store. Then you have the option to choose which formulas you want to test without the hassle of testing multiple colors in the line.

3. Skipping Primer
Ever find your foundation to change color throughout the day, turning a light shade of orange? This happens when too much of the pH in the oil of the skin mixes with the pigment in the foundation. To avoid this oxidation, a primer should be applied to act as a barrier.

4. Applying Concealer Under Foundation
Concealer’s purpose is to add additional coverage when foundation doesn’t completely cover a trouble area. If you apply foundation over concealer, you’re thinning out the concealer you just strategically placed over trouble spots. What’s the point of that?

5. Coating the Entire Face With Foundation
Use foundation where needed, not all over the face. The less you use, the more natural it appears. Spots to pay attention to: redness around the nose, dark under eye circles and any blemishes. Blending with a brush will make it look like all-over color.

7 Eyeshadow Mistakes We All Make — And Shouldn’t

Eyeshadow seems like the most straightforward makeup product — just swipe on the lids and you’re done. However, with different pigments and bold colors, we all make mistakes every now and again. Here is a compiled list of the most common pitfalls, and of course, how to avoid them.

1. Matching Your Eyeshadow to Your Eye Color
The common rule of thumb is that eye colors look best with eyeshadow shades on the opposite side of the color wheel. For example, green eyes look gorgeous with burgundy shadow, since red and green are complementary colors. If you do want to a try a shade that’s similar to your eye color, choose a muted one that won’t overshadow the iris.

2. Forgetting to Blend
Blending different colors — one or two on the lid and another on the brow bone — creates a gorgeous finish. But if there is a harsh line between each color, it looks sloppy and undone. Make sure to blend each shade into the next with a shadow brush.

3. Using Applicators that Come with the Shadow
Most eyeshadows come with handy mini applicators, making it easy to apply on the go. However, for a truly blended finish, you should use a makeup brush. A sponge tip applicator provides a lot of pigment at once while a brush allows you to gradually add product and blend as you go.

4. Applying Too Much Below the Eye
Be careful to dab shadow only on the lower lash line and not any farther down. Any additional product drags down the look and makes the eye appear tired.

5. Applying Eyeshadow After Concealer
Always apply your eyeshadow before your under eye concealer. If not, the shadow will fall all over the eye area and undo all your hard work. When dabbing concealer on the under eyes, place it just below the lower lash line.

6. Using Shimmery Shadows on Aging Lids
Because of their light-reflecting properties, frosty shadows draw attention to wrinkles and crepey lids. Leave the sparkly shades to twenty somethings and choose more flattering matte or satin finish products instead.

7. Skipping Liner and Mascara
Eyeshadow doesn't do it all; the eye also needs some contrast. Dark mascara and eyeliner frame the shape (creating an outline) while the shadow brightens and opens up the eye.

5 Ways You’re Brushing Your Hair Wrong

Whenever we’re faced with a hair problem — whether it be static, grease, limpness — we tend to switch our shampoos, styling products, even the way we blow dry or straighten our hair. But the real trick may be changing how you brush your hair. Although brushing our hair is as natural as washing our hands or pouring a cup of coffee in the morning, it’s not as straightforward as you would believe. Find out what you’re doing wrong — and change your ways.

Brushing from the root to the tip.
Starting at the root and pulling the hair down to the tip pulls the hair out of the follicle, snapping it. Instead, work your way up by starting to comb a few inches up from the bottom, taking out tangles, then moving up a few inches, removing more tangles and working up to the root in these small sections.

Brushing when wet.
The hair fibers get filled with moisture, causing them to stretch. Because the strands are now weaker, breakage is much more common. Allow your hair to air dry before detangling.

Detangling with a paddle brush.
A paddle brush is too harsh to detangle, whether dry or wet. You want to use a wide-tooth comb, but first apply a detangling product. Use a spray for fine hair, a lotion for medium thickness and a cream for thick or coarse hair. The hair will then be slippery and the comb will go right through.

Brushing too much.
If you’ve seen any old movies or TV shows, you may remember women sitting in the front of the mirror counting every brush stroke until they reached 100. However, over brushing can actually cause more breakage. Instead, focus on the quality of the brushing, not the number of strokes. Eliminate the knots and you’re done.

Causing static with your brush.
Brushing too often can also cause static from the friction. Before brushing, pit hair serum on the hair strand to control flyways. You can also rub a few drops of hair oil between your fingertips and run through the hair

#TIP to clean the brush: First remove any hair caught in the bristles and then run the brush under warm water. Add shampoo or hand wash and work it into the bristles, creating a foam. Then rinse the brush off completely and set on a towel to dry.

How to Avoid Obvious Looking Concealer

For a lot of us, the whole point of under eye concealer is to hide the fact that we have been all night out partying or working late. But if the concealer is not being used correctly, then we end up highlighting the problem area instead To avoid a reverse-raccoon look, stick to these top 3 tips when it comes to choosing concealer.

1. Don’t stray too far from your natural skin tone.
It’s easy to assume that the lighter your concealer, the better it will hide your dark circles. When you go too light, however, it makes it impossible to blend in with your foundation. Stick to a color that’s no more than one shade lighter than your skin, and always apply it before your foundation and powder.

2. Watch out for concealers that promise to “brighten.”
We all want brighter skin, but using brightening concealers isn't the way to do it. These formulas generally have light reflecting particles that draw attention to your problem area instead of camouflaging it. Reserve light-reflecting products for underneath your brow bones and along your cheekbones.

3. Sheer it out.
Many concealers have thick formulas to help cover your dark circles. Thicker can sometimes be more problematic than helpful, though. Mix your concealer with a tiny amount of moisturizer before applying and then build on as you need.

Hope this help you guys in getting a perfect concealer for your beautiful skin tone. Don't always look for expensive products, but go in for products that are value for money, even if they come cheap. After-all the price tag is not going to help it look good, but the technique is!

5 Mascara Mistakes We All Make- And Shouldn't.

We all have been seeking for a perfect mascara and let's face it, finding the perfect one which provides that perfect length and volume is a task. But hey if your lashes aren't living up to their potential, part of the problem might lie in how you swipe the wand. Nix these mascara mistakes for long, luscious lashes—without the extensions or falsies.

You Are Not Curling Your Lashes
Mascara will give you lift, but to get that extension you see on the red carpet, you need to use a lash curler. But make sure to curl before applying mascara. Curling after when the lashes are hard can cause breakage.

Applying Excessive Number of Coats
The more coats you apply, the more likely your mascara will dry during application, causing clumping and that unnatural spidery look. If a single swipe of mascara isn’t giving you the volume boost you need, consider switching to a thicker formula.

Pumping the Wand
When you pump the wand in and out of the tube to get more product, you’re actually adding air to the tube. This dries out the mascara and causes it to clump when applied to the lashes and even flake off. Instead, when you want more product for a second coat, dip the wand in once. Not enough mascara? You’ve probably run out.

Using Expired Products
After three months, you should part ways with your mascara. At this point, bacteria starts to grow on the wand and inside the tube, which can lead to red, itchy eyes and and even pinkeye. With a product that goes so close to the eye, you want to be extra careful. Even if you’ve only used the mascara once or twice, the three-month rule still applies.

Smudging on the Lids
When in a rush, we often apply mascara too fast or too hard, brushing past the lashes and onto the lids. Mascara only takes a few seconds, ladies. Take your time! And if you still have a slip-up, dab a bit of Vaseline or makeup remover on a Q-tip and swipe it off. No need to redo your entire eye.

Hope this helps you in your mascara regime! Got any beauty, makeup related question? Tweet me!

How To Pick the Right Lipstick For Your Skin tone

They say, on a bad day, wear a red lipstick, pour some wine and get going. Well, for me wearing any shade of lipstick makes me want to kick butts and feel sexy. Its festive time, time to dress up, wear bling and feel all happy in between all ladoos and mithais. This blog post will not only tell you about some must have shades but will also help you to find out right shades for your skin tone and lips!

Bobbi Brown rightly said, "If I had to teach someone just one thing about lip color it would be this: Find a lipstick that looks good on your face when you are wearing absolutely no makeup." I can swear by this quote for the rest of my life.

The Perfect trick to find out the most flattering lip shade for you is the one which is one or two shades darker than your natural lip colour. To test the right shade, apply lipstick or gloss to one lip, if that color is just a shade or two deeper than your bare lip, then you've found your shade. In most of the cases, the colour printed on the lipstick cover is always right. If you can't get the tester, of the shade of your choice, simply hold it to your lips and check the color out where natural light shines through.

If your lips are on the thinner side, opt for shades that are lighter to medium dark but not the ones which are rich dark. The only problem with rich dark shades is that it ends up showing off those thin lips with an outline. But if you really want a rich maroon colour then avoid matte based and opt for creamy shades or dark shade gloss in the same colour as it will give your thin lips the much needed plumpness.

So here is the most important insight. Alot of my friends, girl friends wrongly believe that they can't wear a timeless red lipstick. If your are apprehensive too then choose the red lip color in undertones. This means that pink, fair cheeked girls can opt for a cherry red while brown skin will look hot in deep reds.

My secret tip for red lipstick: I don't just apply a red shade, my secret is to create, a red lip stain. I apply a colorless balm first, vanilla balm from fab India and then I apply red lipstick with a lip brush. This results in a gorgeous sheen of red.

Miss Guilty Recommends: L'Oreal Infallible Le Rouge,  Chambor women's Rouge Plump, Maybelline Infinitely Fuchsia, Maybelline Non Stop Red, Deborah Milano Atomic Red,  Loreal Rebel Red lip gloss. inacase you want to inquire about a specific lip-shade from the photos then, drop a comment!

And hey, It's best not to match lips to your outfit. Till then, have a great festive season all you gorgeous people.

Wedding Series: 6 Products You Are Missing in Your Vanity Box

Make up and more makeup is every bride's calling! In between all the running around for clothes, boutiques and fittings a lot of women ignore some of the most important products for their vanity boxes. If you are bride on budget or If you are a bride seeking for the right products apart from usual lipsticks, eye-shadows and Kohl for your makeup box, then read the new post for all the details.

Mahima Bhatia Photography

1. Day and Night Makeup Blush
You are charmed by blushes from every brand and you still don't know what blush you should be going in for your kit? Okay the first rule is to pick up two extreme shades-a dark shade and a light day. For dark, go in for a maroon, brown, warm tinge appropriate for the night and for the light shade pick up a rosy, matte blush. There are a lot of options to choose from in the market, like MAC tea peta for the night or MAC rosy for the day. The budget girls can opt for Maybelline Cheeky Glow Blush- Creamy Cinnamon for the night and Myabelline Peachy sweety for the day.

2. Foundation
A perfect foundation that you usually see on actress/models is never a single shade. To get the perfect shade, get two shades of foundation. one should be of your skin tone and other one must be a shade darker, yes you read it right- darker. Th reason is simple, learn to embrace you skin tone and the lighter shade only highlights the unevenness of your face and the make you look ghostly white. Mix two shades and blend well using a foundation brush. Foundation I will recommend that you invest in an expensive brand especially when your skin is sensitive or prone to pimple. Indulge in a MAC, Clinique and Estee Lauder base. The bride on budget can get her hands on a MAC. Make sure you test a lot of shades before finalizing the right one for your skin tone.

3. Concealer
Call it a god's gift or a blessing in disguise, owning a concealer is a boon. Best suited for under-eye and area around the lips. Concealer is a must after base as it refines the skin to perfection. You simply need to dab the concealer using a finger tip and spread it evenly to get the best result. Get the one from mac or Bobbi Brown, my personal favorites. For the Budget bride, the close substitute is a cc cream or a high end bb cream.

4. Make up Fixer
A lot of my friends still don't know the secret behind my dewy makeup. Err, now that I have to disclose it, It's called as MAC fix plus. It's a perfect setting spray for your makeup and is a must have product for a night makeup look. The best spray till date has been MAC Fix Plus for me. You can read the entire review here.

5. Mascara
You love kajal, eyeliner and eye shadow and you think these three components complete your eye makeup, well darling, It's the application of a mascara that gives you the perfect edgy eyes. Go in for voluminous mascara from Loreal which happens to my favorite mascara. For the Budget bride I will recommend Lakme eye-conic eyeliner because of it's curl on brush that holds your lashes really well.

6. White Eye primer (cream)
A lot of you I am sure don't use an eye primer, because I too wasn't using one until I saw few you tube videos by beauty bloggers across and how they kind of highlight the area underneath their eyebrow which makes the eyes look really pretty. It is very simple to apply this product, just take your index finger and like a lip balm apply in under your brow. It stabilizes smokey eyes or glitter eye makeup hence is a must recommendation from my side! Choose a mac primer (cream base) or white powder from colorbar (for the budget bride).

You must have noticed how I am little biased towards MAC, well okay, here's the confession. I am a mac-o-holic. I think mac products are an investment, I haven't really purchased a Chanel foundation or the likes because I love what I buy from mac and I have always had the best results always. Also don't forget to keep cotton balls for makeup fixing and removal and a good moisturizer all the while to hydrate your skin post and pre makeup use. These are top 6 products you must have along with lipsticks, brushes, kajal, eyeliners etc.

Hope you guys liked this post. Wish you all a happy wedding season!

Lakme Enrich Satins 131 Lipstick Review

Contributed by Tisha

Hi Girls, I am new here :)  Today I will be reviewing a lipstick  by  Lakme. Lakme is one brand that has been around for years now and most Indian women who are into makeup have had bought one Lakme product at some point in her life. I  Remember years ago when I was a preteen-ish kid,  my aunt use to have lots of Lakme enrich lipsticks and I use to drool over them :p She had a  huge collection of them.  Lakme  has a wide array ofand Lipsticks, and I really mean huge! It started with  Enrich lipsticks and now there is lip love, absoute matte, absolute creme, 9  to 5,aqua shine and various other variants.

Description: Lipstick rich color takes life in a luxuriously creamystick that brings satin to your lips. Enriched with sunscreens, vitamins and the goodness of olives, your lips will have a story to share. Indulge in a pod of beautiful shades ranging from floral pinks to shimmering peaches.
Price : Rs 225 for 4.4 g

My experience:

Shade : This is a  very pretty neutral -kinds MLBB shade that one can easily wear daily, this is kind of muted pink type nude, kind of like Colorbar bare but different and much much more sheer. Girls who are into  smokey eyes/heavy eye makeup will love this as it is perfect with smokey eyes, but for me, I like neutral eyes, nude lipsticks and everything subtle so great for me.It is one the lighter side so it will wash out very fair skintones, it is good for medium and dusky skinned ones. Do not own Mac mehr but  I think this is a dupe of Mac mehr! Both are similar nudes with pink hues.

Texture, finish& staying power: Texture is creamy and glides on very easily, but if lips are severely dry or flaked or has fine line, it accentuates those. Finish is creamy-kinds and good and if it would be a MAC lippie,I would call it cremesheen(not that I have one ;). It has a kinda strong typical ''lipstick'' smell, can't describe but  it is there in many lipsticks.Staying power is not very good,it stays for 5 hours or so without meals then it fades, If you eat with this one,you will be left with nude lips.

Pros of  Lakme Enrich Satins 131 Lipstick :

1)Beautiful MLBB shade

2)Looks like a dupe of Mac Mehr to me

3)Creamy,non drying tecxture

4)Wide array of shades to choose from

5)Affordable

Cons of Lakme Enrich Satins 131 Lipstick :

1)Staying power could have been better

2)Packaging is ok but nothing fancy and if you own alot these, you will have trouble finding (not a con for me though but for Lakme-hoarders)

3)The ''lipstick'' smell is strong and I dislike it

4)Washes out pale/very fair skintones

Rating:3.5/5

Will I recommend   Lakme Enrich Satins 131 Lipstick ? Yes I will ! :)
